The STIHL MS 300 combines outstanding power, faster acceleration and sophisticated ergonomics in a lightweight and compact format. Designed for professional users with high demands on performance, control and reliability, the machine is developed for efficient felling and processing of medium-sized stands. The 2-MIX engine's fast response and electronic engine control (M-Tronic 3) allow the saw to work smoothly and efficiently with less pressure required. Balanced weight distribution and well thought-out ergonomics give the user good control and reduced strain during long working days in varying forest environments.

Extremely fast acceleration

From idle to 10,000 rpm in just 0.2 seconds - for instant response and maximum efficiency in every cut.

The compact design and low gyroscopic forces provide very good control - especially when delimbing, precision work and rapid changes of direction.

The fully electronic engine control regulates the ignition timing and fuel dosage taking into account external conditions such as temperature, altitude and fuel quality.

Adjustable oil pump

By setting the oil pump to economy mode "E", oil consumption is reduced by up to 50%. For very long swords or very dry wood, the oil quantity can be adjusted manually. Easy access to the oil pump makes adjustment and customisation quick and easy.

Longer cleaning intervals

Pre-separation removes coarse and large particles from the air stream even before they reach the HD2 filter. The HD2 filter keeps fine dust out of the engine and extends engine life.

HD2 filter

The HD2 filter prevents dust from reaching the engine, reducing wear and increasing the life of the machine. The filter is made of PET material and has up to 70 per cent finer pores than nonwoven and polyamide filters. The HD2 filter is also oil and water repellent, which makes cleaning the filter easier. The filter cartridge can be replaced easily and without tools if necessary.

Tool-free filler caps

Thanks to the bayonet fitting on the tool-free tank cap, the cap opens and closes in a few simple steps.

Thanks to the optimised interaction between bar, chain and oil pump, the oil reaches exactly where it is needed. This can reduce oil consumption by up to 50 per cent, while maintaining lubrication even during demanding work or when using longer bars.

The four coil channels direct the fuel-air mixture into the cylinder in a targeted and more compressed manner, optimising fuel combustion and significantly increasing engine performance.

Folding guides

Felling guides parallel to the bar provide better support for felling direction selection and increased plunge accuracy. The markings on the chainsaw help you determine both cutting direction and depth of cut. They are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the vertical felling line, making it easier to judge the exact felling direction of the tree.

Manual decompression

The decompression valve makes it easier to start the machine by releasing some of the compressed mixture from the cylinder

Stihl 2-mix engine

STIHL 2-MIX engines reduce both exhaust emissions and fuel consumption, resulting in lower operating costs. The high torque provides strong performance even in demanding work. The engine runs on petrol and engine oil and meets the requirements of the EU Stage V Exhaust Emissions Directive. For best performance, STIHL MotoMix or MotoMix MB100 is recommended.
